Check-in and check-out

Check-in is from 3:00pm. Check-out is at 11:00am.

Early check-in and late check-out may be possible depending on how full we are, and may carry a fee. Ask the front desk on the day rather than assuming — we would rather tell you early than surprise you.

Guest identification

A valid government-issued photo ID is required at check-in, along with the credit card used for the booking.

Guarantee and deposit

A credit card authorisation is taken at check-in to cover incidental charges. The authorisation is released after check-out; how quickly it disappears from your statement is up to your bank.

A $100 cash deposit may be provided at check-in instead of a card authorisation, subject to hotel approval.

Cancellation and modification

Terms depend on the rate you book.

• Flexible rates — cancel or modify by 3:00pm local time one day before arrival to avoid a charge.
• Non-refundable rates — cannot be cancelled or refunded once confirmed.

Your confirmation email states which you booked. If you are not sure, call us and we will check.

Valet parking

Valet parking is available at the hotel.

• Standard vehicles — $66 per night, tax included
• Oversized vehicles — $78 per night, tax included

Vehicles must be collected by 3:00pm on the day of check-out, or a $20 late fee applies. In-and-out privileges are limited and may not be available. Please call the front desk in advance when you need your car.

Pets

One dog per room, up to 40 lb.

Service animals are always welcome and are exempt from any fee, in accordance with ADA guidelines.

Smoking

The Tilden is entirely non-smoking, including all guest rooms and the courtyard. Smoking anywhere on the premises carries a cleaning fee.

Cribs

Cribs are available on request, subject to availability. Please ask when booking so we can have one in the room before you arrive.

Housekeeping

Housekeeping is provided regularly. For longer stays the schedule can be arranged to suit you — tell the front desk what works.

Breakfast

On the Breakfast Included rate and on the Best Available Rate, breakfast at El Mariachi is part of the stay: one breakfast per registered guest, per night.

It applies to the mornings of your stay only. It cannot be used after check-out, carried to another day, or exchanged for cash or credit. Additional items may be purchased directly at the restaurant.

The Backyard

The courtyard is open daily from 9:00am to 9:00pm.

Occupancy and local tax

Rates exclude San Francisco transient occupancy tax and any applicable assessments, which are added at the time of booking and shown before you confirm.

Lost property

If you leave something behind, contact the front desk as soon as you can. Lost items are held for a limited period and then disposed of.
