The Penthouse

Six hundred square feet indoors, opening onto a thousand square feet of private rooftop. The largest space in the hotel, and the only one with a view.

The penthouse and its private rooftop, with the terrace door open

The space

An evening that feels like yours

The penthouse sits at the top of the hotel, away from the lobby and the street. Inside there are couches and low tables and a private kitchen; outside, the rooftop runs the length of the floor and looks over Union Square and the theatre district.

It is a room that suits a small number of people well. Guests arrive into a living room rather than a function suite, drinks are poured where everyone can see them, and the door to the terrace stays open all evening.

What it suits

Small enough to stay intimate

  • Cocktail receptions

High tables on the terrace, the seating area kept as it is, and room to move between the two.

  • Seated dinners

One long table indoors, or tables set out on the rooftop when the evening allows it.

  • Small meetings

A working morning somewhere that does not feel like a meeting room, with the kitchen for breaks.

  • Game-watch parties

The living room, the screen, and a terrace to spill onto between innings.

The food

Cooked here, by Chef Steph

Food for the penthouse comes through our partnership with Chef Steph, who builds each menu around the evening rather than handing over a set list.

Plates are passed rather than queued for, which is what keeps a room this size feeling like a party instead of a catered function.
